Privacy Policy

Last updated October 11, 2026

Your Open Season ("YOS", "we") runs youropenseason.com, a directory of lifestyle events for adults 18 and over. We collect as little as possible. This page explains exactly what we collect and why.

Who we are

youropenseason.com is operated by Your Open Season LLC, Your Open Season LLC, 1122 3 St SE Ste 1906 #364, Calgary, AB T2G 0E7, Canada, which is responsible for the personal information described here. Our privacy contact, the person in charge of personal information, can be reached at yos.bookings@proton.me.

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you sign up for the weekly email. We store the address, the page you signed up from, the sign-up time, your city if you choose to add it and, if you leave, the time you unsubscribed. If you tick a consent box we also store when you ticked it and which version of the wording you saw. We use it only to send the Your Open Season weekly events email.
  • Event submissions. If you submit an event, we store the event details you enter and, if you choose to give it, your email address so we can follow up about that submission, plus the hashed abuse-prevention code described below.
  • Interest lists. If you register interest in YOS Trip #1 or reserve a YOS Pass founding member spot, we store your email, the answers or tier you picked, and the time. We use it only to tell you about that trip or membership and to send the Sunday email you agreed to. The YOS Pass page also counts, anonymously, how often each price tier is seen or picked: those counts store only the tier and the time, nothing about you.
  • Host requests. If you claim, correct or ask us to remove a listing, or ask about featured placement, we store what you enter (and your email if you give it) in a private review queue, used only to handle that request. To limit abuse we also store a one-way hashed code derived from your IP address, never the IP address itself.
  • Outbound click counts. When you click through to an event or booking site, we record which event was clicked, the destination website, the page on our site you clicked from, and the time. We do not record your IP address, device, browser or any identifier, so these counts cannot be tied to you.
  • Cookieless analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and visits. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and reports only aggregated numbers to us.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. When you confirm you are 18 or older, your browser remembers that choice in session storage for the current visit only. It never leaves your device.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share your email address with event organizers, resorts, advertisers or affiliate partners.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the site: Vercel (website hosting and analytics), Supabase (database, hosted in Canada), Railway (runs the jobs that send the weekly email and an internal daily summary) and Resend (email delivery). Like any web host, our hosting provider processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Apart from the hashed code on host requests described above, we use IP addresses only in short-lived memory to rate-limit forms and do not store them.

Vercel, Railway and Resend are based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside Canada and outside your own country, where it is protected by those providers' contracts with us but may be accessible to authorities under local law.

Why we use it (legal bases)

  • Emails (the weekly email, interest lists, YOS Pass updates): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Event submissions and host requests: to handle the request you sent us.
  • The hashed abuse-prevention code and rate limits: our legitimate interest in keeping the forms free of spam and abuse.

How long we keep it

  • Email list: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your address marked as unsubscribed, so we never email you again by mistake. Ask us and we will delete it entirely.
  • Interest lists and YOS Pass reservations: until the trip or membership launches or is dropped, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Event submissions and host requests, with the hashed code: as long as we need them to handle the request and keep a record of how a listing changed, and we review them at least once a year.
  • Outbound click counts and analytics: aggregate counts only, kept as long as they are useful. They contain nothing that identifies you.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to get a copy, or to stop us using it, and you can withdraw consent to email at any time. Email yos.bookings@proton.me. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your privacy regulator: in Canada the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information), in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office, and in the EU or EEA your national data protection authority.

Consent in the EU, UK and Quebec

If you visit from the European Union or wider EEA, the United Kingdom or Quebec, our signup forms show an unticked consent box, and we only add you to the list if you tick it. To decide whether to show the box, we read the country (and, in Canada, province) that our hosting provider attaches to each request. We do not store that location, and no cookie is used. Many of our forms show the box to everyone.

Email and your choices

Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email yos.bookings@proton.me to unsubscribe, to ask what we hold about you, or to have your email address deleted. We act on requests promptly.

Adults only

This site is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
