18+ and Community Standards

Last updated October 10, 2026

These are the standards Your Open Season holds itself to, and asks hosts and readers to share. They are plain language, not legal advice. For the specific rules on posting and submitting, see the Acceptable Use Policy and the Listing and Content Policy.

Adults 18+ only

  • The site, the emails and every event we list are for adults 18 and over.
  • We ask you to confirm you are 18 or older before browsing, and our signup and submission forms say so again. We do not ask for ID and we never store ID images.
  • Some venues set a higher minimum age, such as 21+. The host's rule always applies to their event.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we delete it.

Consent comes first

  • Every event we list must be for consenting adults. No means no, and a yes can be taken back at any time.
  • We do not list anything that involves coercion, pressure, payment for sex or anyone who cannot consent.
  • Our guides cover consent and etiquette, but each host sets and enforces their own house rules. Read them before you go.

Privacy and discretion

  • We list events, not people. No personal ads, no member profiles, no photos of guests.
  • We collect only what we need: your email and, if you choose to give it, your city. No tracking cookies. See our privacy policy.
  • Never identify or out anyone. If you see something that does, report it and we will act on it fast.

Honest content

  • No fake reviews, fake testimonials or invented member numbers. Any numbers we show come from our own data.
  • No explicit images or explicit text. Listings and guides stay factual and tasteful.
  • If something is planned but not live yet, we say so. Affiliate links are marked, and explained on our affiliate disclosure page.

AI personas and AI content

  • If we ever use an AI-written or AI-voiced persona, host or guide, it will be clearly labeled as AI wherever it appears. It will never be presented as a real member, couple or customer.
  • We never use AI-generated faces or bodies to depict members, guests or testimonials.
  • AI-generated images, where we use them at all, are limited to scenery, places and decorative art, never people presented as real.
  • Testimonials, if we publish any, will come only from real people who agreed to be quoted.

When something goes wrong

If a listing is wrong, unsafe or should not be there, use our takedown process. Questions about these standards: yos.bookings@proton.me.
